This is the most wonderful time of the year (or so it is said). But what if it is not for you? Our experiences may or may not align with societal beliefs and standards. And when they don’t, what to do then?
I say feel how you feel. Our feelings can change moment to moment and day to day. It’s not about feeling Holly and Jolly during a specific season or day but how to create this feeling within and come back to it again and again.

To do this, you can start to:
– Realize that the light radiates from within you.
– Ask yourself what lights me up, what brings me joy? Whatever this is for you, do that and more of it!
– Start to reframe your self-talk, when you begin to think I can’t…shift that to I can. You can and you will! You’ve got this!
– Make space for all of your feelings (happiness, sadness, anger, excitement, enthusiasm, fear, doubt, joy, etc.) as there is room for all of them- invite them all to dinner so to speak.

We often experience many mixed emotions throughout the year and especially during the Holidays. I encourage you to be self-compassionate- do what feels right for you. Don’t let societal beliefs or standards weigh you down with all of the shoulds! Remember if it doesn’t work for you and yours you always have the choice not to- you decide. It is your life, your experience, you get to choose! Choose what being and feeling jolly during any time of year means to you! The power lies within you- choose it, feel it and live it from the inside out authentically year-round.
